White Oak Plantation is a family owned and operated whitetail deer hunting lodge located in Macon County in the famous Black Belt of Alabama. It has set the standard for other lodges in Alabama for over 32 years. The lodge has been the site of countless storied trophy buck hunts and big bass and bream harvests. Many of the most world renowned outdoor writers in America have visited the lodge and recorded their fishing and hunting trips in national magazines.
White Oak Plantation is the one whitetail deer outfitter in Alabama that surpasses hunter expectations. The family offers experienced hunting guides, one of the best opportunities for hunters to harvest mature bucks, sumptuous meals, clean, comfortable, private bedrooms, Direct TV, daily maid service and one on one family to hunter interaction. Our goal is to produce the total Alabama deer hunting experience. The most common comment from hunters upon their arrival at White Oak Plantation is that they feel as if the are “coming home."
Whitetail deer hunts are offered during the "prime" hunting period for the Alabama Black Belt.
Hunts are only offered the month of January during the Alabama Black Belt whitetail deer rutting season. There are only three hunters per hunt or a maximum of 25 hunters for the entire month of January.
The pressure on the whitetail deer herd is strictly controlled with hunts rotated between various food plots and bedding areas twice a day. Successful whitetail deer hunting in January and the comfort and satisfaction of the hunter is the total focus of White Oak's experienced hunting guides and staff. The results of the concentrated attention to preparation of the land, stands, roads and food plots may be seen in the success ratio of mature bucks taken to the number of hunters for the past three years. This is comparable to any of the 200 or more lodges in Alabama.
White Oak Plantation offers excellent fishing in addition to the outstanding whitetail deer hunting.
For the hunter who wants versatility, there are two lakes stocked with bass and bream that may be fished at anytime during their stay. The larger lake is only steps away from the lodge. The last two fishermen who fished the lakes in October took over 200 bass in three days of fishing. For the trophy bass fisherman, bass of over 12 pounds have been taken. Creel limits are re set periodically, dependent on what has been taken, to control the size, health and number of fish.

THE PROFFITT FAMILY JANUARY 2013
At our Alabama hunting lodge, we have enjoyed over thirty-two years of entertaining sportsmen from forty nine of the fifty states and many foreign countries. Our guests have experienced some of the best whitetail deer and turkey hunting in Alabama. Our old business Plantation Oaks of Alabama was closed and the corporation dissolved 4 years ago.
As we visited with many former hunters who had been with us over the years, we realized that we missed the camaraderie and fellowship of our “old” friends. In January 2011 we invited a small number of former hunters and friends to hunt with us during the whitetail deer rut. We found it to be truly rewarding and satisfying to be able to interact with each guest individually. Therefore, these limited spaces will be available again this season.
This site is a reminder of days gone by and a "Thank You" to our old friends for their loyalty and support. We hope as you look through the "Dreams to Memories" section and enjoy the pictures that will be posted there it will bring back many memories for you also. Many of our friends are past, but not forgotten. This is also to honor their memory.
Although our land is not presently available, anyone interested in acquiring any other large acreages in Alabama are encouraged to contact our broker at the number provided or look up their web site for property currently being offered.
