First Annual Tuskegee Public Fishathon Held at White Oak Plantation
The first annual Tuskegee Public Fishathon was held May 14, 2008 at White Oak Plantation. The field day will be an annual event for students in the Macon County school system. this endeavor is a cooperative effort of the Macon County School system, the Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources division of Wildlife & Fisheries, & the Tuskegee community, with the help of local businesses, Macon county commission, Honorable Johnny Ford and the Tuskegee Chamber of Commerce and Macon county Sheriff's Department. White Oak Plantation was proud to be the first to open up their facilities for the children of Macon County. Other citizens will open their doors to the children in future events.
The children enjoyed a day of fishing, lunch and a lot of fellowship as they fished for bass and bream in the lakes at White Oak.

Whitener Family Enjoys Two Days of Fun and Fishing at
White Oak Plantation
Carroll and Betty Whitener brought the family to White Oak Plantation recently for two days of fellowship and fishing. John Sloan, of Two Rivers Outdoors, served as a guide for the crew on Lake Adlih and Lake Namtip. The bass in these two lakes are reaching seven to eight pounds now, and the Whiteners caught their share of "big mouths". Below is a photo of the whole gang in front of John Sloan's truck.
