ARCHERY SEASON
Traditionally the first deer hunt at White Oak is the Does and Bows, ladies only archery deer hunt. With 30 enthusiastic ladies in camp, the alabama deer hunting season is always off to a good start.
There are many Pope and Young caliber bucks taken each year, but it takes a skilled hunter to be able to harvest one with a bow and arrow!
DOES AND BOWS XIII

Hunting Rifle Season
Alabama opens the deer hunting gun season each year the Saturday before Thanksgiving and ends January 31. White Oak has been operating under the same Selective Harvesting Program for 24 years. Strict control of this program allows deer hunters to take 80 or more mature quality bucks each season with a success rate of 32 percent on mature bucks over the 24 years. Deer hunters are allowed to take one mature buck during their stay and two does per day. A buck must have either eight points or a sixteen inch spread. Broken points or points less than 1 inch will not be counted. All deer hunts are fair chase, no pens, fences or guarantees. Deer hunts are conducted from stands only, no stalk hunting. The stands are specially constructed ladder stands, large elevated shooting houses or towers. White Oak has more than 500 stands located over 20,000 acres. |
